Shopping Downtown, Grand Cayman

Whether visiting by cruise ship or staying  awhile, you’ll not want to miss an opportunity to explore the quaint streets of downtown George Town.  The bustling capital is not only home to the seat of government and major financial establishments, but also a wide variety of souvenir and duty free shops.

Cruise ship passengers will step directly into the shopping district when disembarking at the port along Harbor Drive. Stay-over visitors will have the stores to themselves if they plan to shop when there are no ships in port. Cruise ships usually call on Grand Cayman towards the middle of the week so you may want to check the schedules when planning your shopping day.

  • Cigars
  • T-shirts
  • Stamps

 

As you meander around town, be sure to stop and look at some of the islands historic and government buildings including: the National Museum, Elmslie Memorial Church, the Post Office, Library, Court House, Town Hall, and Legislative Assembly – all within a half mile radius.
